Newsflash! I love my hair now! (Cue studio applause.) I finally figured out the trick…I don’t like it straight. I’ve never been a fan of pin straight hair on myself. It makes my skinny face look longer plus I find it boring. I need volume! Waves! Curls! I find it interesting and sexy and fun! All adjectives I love.
The trick? Blow drying it with my head upside down (for more volume) and then using Tresemme’s Heat Tamer Spray along with the 32mm NumeStyle wand. BOOM! Game-changer, right? I will admit it takes longer than I would like to style it this way but the end result is totally worth it. I finish the look by misting my curls with the best hair spray ever, L’Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray, and tah-dah! The curls slightly drop throughout the day leaving behind silky, voluminous, wavy hair. That is the beauty of this hairspray; it has some serious hold power yet it never feels too stiff or too sticky and comes right out with the stroke of a brush sans the white flaky residue most other hairsprays leave behind. It’s like magic!
Other products I’m loving this second? This new LORAC emerald-green eyeshadow that arrived just in time for the holidays! Green makeup during Christmas can be slightly…predictable, but I feel that using it for New Year’s Eve is fun and interesting, while still remaining in the holiday spirit. Plus, I shy away from pairing green eyeshadow with red (or dark) lipstick, making it the perfect look to rock with nude lips which means you won’t end up with red lipstick all over your face when the ball drops and your man pulls you in for some passionate smooching. Brown-eyed girls everywhere: Green eyeshadows and liners make your eyes pop! The contrast between the green and brown makes brown eyes look lighter and it brings out the gold undertones, making them extra twinkly. Pair that with some gorgeous lashes and your man will not be able to stop staring into your eyes. I wore this look for a hot dinner date and my boyfriend loved it! – grins foolishly –
All this aside, I want to thank each and every one of you who reads my blog. As you can probably tell, I’m crazy about makeup, (or maybe I’m just crazy, period.) and I love that I get to share that with you here. This year was a fabulous one and I look forward to bringing you more fun, interesting, inspiring and great content in 2015. May we all continue growing, improving and may we all get what we deserve on this new year that is about to begin.
Cheers and Stay Fabulous!
