What do you get when you combine 20+ up-and-coming fashion bloggers, a cool venue, fun vendors, DJ Fly Guy from VH1 and Fashion Blogger Lynnette Joselly? You get the Summer Fashion Bash hosted at The Social Lubricant in Wynwood! The day was filled with awesome tunes, mimosas, bites and fresh juice provided by Deliver Lean, hair papering services by SoBlo and lustworthy items showcased by several local fashion boutiques. The only downside to this great day? It was 90 degrees outside. Yup, that’s nine-o degrees of ridiculous, infernal heat (and steam) that reminded all of us melting bloggers and bikini models that it was a “Summer” fashion showcase indeed.
Confession…I heart dresses. Like a lot. I will use every single excuse possible to wear anything that makes me feel like a princess; few things beat the “new dress” feeling in my book. Growing up, my mom used to buy me a new dress for very special occasions. She would make me try it on and then hang in neatly in my closet to wait for its debut. I would stare at it longingly and daydream in anticipation of the day I would get to wear my new dress and twirl around in it, Disney Princess style (of course). I have made it one of my adult life’s missions to collect as many dresses as possible that make me tingle in anticipation that way. This dress was love at first sight. The delicate lace pattern between the ivory crochet bands, combined with the cream and navy blue patterns made for a match made in heaven for me. The best part? I got it for $39 at Marshalls. BOOM! All accessories are from Francesca’s and I went with an emerald and golden look for the eyes and a bronzy, nude look for the rest of my face along with a messy, side-braid separated in sections. There was NO WAY IN HELL I was about to repeat the mistake of leaving my hair down (lesson learned during Swim Week).
