It all started with, “I’ll just do a little eyeliner” and then I ended up with heavy eyes and mixing three different shades of lipstick to match my new crimson tank top. Hey, shit happens. After all, it is in fact the season to vamp it up and to rock costume-y looks. I was going for a goth/vampire-ish look and I think I totally nailed it (it also helps that I can’t possibly be any more pale).
I’ve been all about comfort lately. I wear ridiculously high heels all week for work. By the time the weekend rolls around, my feet are swollen and achey and I just want my converse or any of my flat boots (not to mention a stiff drink).
With this makeup I broke one of my cardinal rules: don’t do heavy eyes AND dark lips! I said, “To hell with it” and I topped off the look with my favorite fedora. My lucky, concert-going sequin fedora. I have to admit, I felt a little weird but I dealt with it. I’m all about pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I happily left the house, strolled around Mary Brickell Village with my boo (got a few weird looks), sat at an outside table at Rosa Mexicano and stuffed my face with Guac.
Lipstick + guacamole = Happiness. It really is just that simple sometimes. Oh, and do yourself a favor and order the flautas and the Mexican corn the next time you’re at Rosa. Thank me later.
Stay Fabulous!
