Leather, booties, chilly weather, exquisite coffee and bomb food. I am in HEAVEN.
My brother laughs at me because I shake like an over-caffeinated chihuahua when the wind picks up speed and I’m reminded that I am in fact a Miamian and my tropical body isn’t used to this mountain climate. If you’ve seen half of my Snapchat videos (OwnYourGlam), you can tell my shaky hands are having an impossible time capturing those clouds from the rooftop of the building. But I love it.
The crisp weather. The turning of the leaves. The feeling of being so incredibly far away from home, but home at the same time. The chillness. The laidbackness. The friendliness. The open-mindedness of this town.
Seattle may have bad rap for gloomy weather, and that may be true for larger portions of the winter, but the culture here is far from gray and its soul is an explosion of color; a true feast for the senses.
In the last three days we’ve had Japanese, Russian, Vietnamese, Pacific Northwestern and Ethiopian cuisine. Plus I brought some of that latin flavor and made some killer picadillo last night while enjoying (one too many) home-made Moscow Mules (my fave!). Talk about variety right?
About this outfit: I bought this gray knit dress, along with the camel-colored suede booties and deer socks at Francesca’s in Merrick Park on super sale during Labor Day Weekend. I threw on this black leather jacket to for an edgy look and this fringe cross body bag that goes everywhere I go. The deer socks are my favorite part of this outfit!
