Local cosmetics brand, Beauty for Real, has teamed up with Aerie for American Eagle and produced a delicious summer line worthy of your inner bronze goddess’ attention.
The awesome ladies from BRF sent me a package with glow sticks and lip glosses and here’s what I found:
On a clean and lightly (oil-free) moisturized face, I used three of the Glow Sticks for some light contouring on the go. The texture was soft, creamy and easy to blend and the shimmer in all three was very subtle, giving the skin a soft glow. The sticks are also lightly pigmented (they look darker in the tube) which also makes them easy to blend. I contoured with the dark shade, used the pink shade as a blush and highlighted with the highlighter. The result was a natural “no makeup” look perfect for lounging by the pool and for beach days. Word of caution: This product may not be for you if you have oily skin. I would imagine that normal and dry-skin ladies won’t have the French-fry syndrome problem. I stay away from cream highlighters and blushes for that same reason and I contour with powders.
The Glow Sticks smell SO GOOD it will make you want to eat them. I’m not kidding. I would use them on my bare shoulders, décolletage and legs for some serious bronzy fabulousness and to attract unsuspecting cute bystanders who will wonder where that intoxicating cocoa-butter smell is coming from. Think Winnie-The-Pooh and honey. Yup, that effect.
The lip glosses are fantastic! They also smell like cocoa and they are not tacky or sticky which is a big turn-off for me in lip products. The texture is thin and smooth and the shimmer is very soft making your lips look beautifully radiant while still looking incredibly natural. Did I mention they smell great? I find myself puckering up and inhaling deeply whenever I use them (Yes, again, I’m a weirdo).
The line also has a sea-salt hair mist for natural beach waves and a coffee and sugar body scrub that probably smells as amazing as the glow sticks, if not better.
You can find this new line in over 200 American Eagle stores as well as American Eagle’s website.
A big thanks to Beauty For Real for sending me your products to test and review. This is NOT a sponsored post, all opinions are in fact, my own.
