I’ve been on the fence about posting our engagement pics. I’ve shared a couple of them on Facebook and the amount of love and good wishes from everyone was unbelievable. Hence my question; why do I feel so UGH about sharing these? It’s almost like I want to keep them all to myself. Weird, right?
I keep getting reminded left and right that, “THE BIG DAY IS ALMOST HERE!”
Something else I’ve been hearing a lot these days is, “You must be SO. NERVOUS.”
The truth is, not one bit. Nada. Zilch. Bupkis. The only thing that worries me is the weather; I cannot wait to marry this man.
Beyond my (stunning) dress, and the flowers and the cake, I simply cannot get over the fact that I am actually marrying my absolute best friend. Yeah, yeah, that’s what everyone says about their significant other but Gabe and I were actually best friends for five years before we we’re able to coincide. That just goes to show that you can make all the plans you want, but ultimately, it’s God (in whatever shape or form you believe in) who has the last say in your life. His plans for you may defy your logic and go beyond your wildest dreams, but if He is sending you down a certain path, know with conviction that it’s because it is the best for you. It’s up to you to rise to the occasion and be the absolute best you can be. Everything else ends up falling in its place, and this is exactly the case with this love story. I and I am exactly where I am supposed to be. In Tyler Knot Gregson’s words, in one of my favorite poems of his:
are the poem
I never knew
how to write
and this life
is the story
I have always
I leave you with some of our favorite moments from our engagement shoots. These were shot in Key Biscayne and in Wynwood by the amazing Chantal Lawrie. Check out more of her work at www.ChantalWeddings.com. Follow me on Snapchat (OwnYourGlam) to get a behind-the-scenes peek into all the wedding shenanigans that are about to take place this week. I’ve been MIA from Instagram and Facebook these days. Blame my social media detox but hey, I prefer it this way. For now.
