First and foremost, please excuse the state of my right eyebrow. My brows do what they want.
With that out of the way, it’s time for some good ol’ endorphin-releasing, therapeutic beauty talk.
I recorded a video tutorial for this super easy, heat-proof, “no-makeup” look and guess what? I have managed to fill every last bit of memory on my Macbook with selfies, pictures of my dog (while sleeping), and more makeup selfies. It’s a little embarrassing to publicly admit this, but I’m not as technologically savvy as a blogger should be. I HATE Photoshop. Do not talk to me about Megabytes and Gigabytes. So unless I’m writing, or zooming in on my pores in high-definition (in horror), or consuming disgusting amounts of social media, I rather spend my time not glued to yet another screen.
Okay, I’m totally exaggerating. I have become quite decent at iMovie, which crashed while I was on the final editing stages of the video tutorial in subject so now you’re stuck reading this. You’re welcome.
This has been my go-to makeup look for the past few weeks. We are still experiencing July temperatures in Miami and there is NO WAY IN HELL I’m caking up my face in 100 degree weather. Nope. Can’t do it.
Lets break down this look:
(Name of product followed by the shade I’m wearing)
Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer (Blush): I have tried many tinted moisturizers. This one is my favorite one so far. Fast-absorbing, light and virtually odor-free (some creams with SPF smell like beach sunblock, yuck), this award-winning product is the holy grail of buildable coverage moisturizers.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer (Light Neutral): This product officially has the longest name ever. Whoever came up with this name is brilliant though because it describes it perfectly. Apply directly with the wand under the eyes, on the lids and wherever you have redness (around your nose, pimples, etc). Blend with a damp Beautyblender.
Clinique Translucent Powder (Invisible Blend): To avoid the french-fry syndrome, set the tinted moisturizer with this. You can skip it if you have dry skin and/or you want a dewier look.
Beauty for Real + Aerie Glow Stick (Hightide): Apply the stick directly to the highest parts of your cheeks, to your temples, the bridge of your nose (use your fingertip here) and your cupid’s bow for some natural highlight. Blend it in with your fingertips. I LOVE the scent of this product. Tip: If you’re a fellow highlighter junkie, apply a powder highlighter on top of this. #STROBBING
NARS Blush (Final Cut): A peach-coral hue with warm undertones and a matte finish is the perfect blush for a natural look. This specific color is no longer available from NARS but I found it on Amazon in case you want to get this limited edition cheek palette before it disappears.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder (Soft Brown): Lightly fill in your brows in a shade lighter than your natural color to give them some definition. Like bangs, eyebrows frame your face. It’s an extra step that can make your look polished.
Lips: Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in “Lovely” topped with Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in “Pink Steam”
Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara: This product was sent to me by Younique sales super star, Katie Ritz (her website here) in exchange for an honest review. This mascara will take this look from a seven-ish minute look, to a ten minute look BUT IT IS SO WORTH IT. If you’re a mascara junkie like I am, this will catapult your addiction to the next level. Watch your lashes grow and multiply before your very eyes with the use of this three-step system. One tube contains the transplanting gel (a.k.a. mascara) and the other tube contains the fuzzy fibers that stick to the gel. First you apply the gel, then the fibers (with a wand like a normal mascara) and then you seal it with another coat of gel. Voila!
Katie takes orders directly from her website and the product is shipped right to your doorstep! You can also follow her page on Facebook (here) in case you have any questions about any of the Younique cosmetics line.
This was a long one peeps. I hope I can clean out my computer and edit the video before we’re all yelling, “Happy New Years!” so you can see this mascara wonder in action.
