I read somewhere that the modern-day person will have an average of twenty careers in their lifetime.
You read right. That’s TWO, ZERO. It makes sense since technology has made it possible to learn virtually anything from the comfort of your own home and with that, competition has become something a little like The Huger Games in today’s business world. Before we go down the “what happens if I take the blue pill instead of the red pill” conversation, lets get to the important stuff. Like, how am I supposed to look/smell/feel my absolute best while working, raising a family, pursuing my passion, working on my fitness, giving back to the community? (A.K.A., while I’m busy as hell!)
Here are four products that are perfect for the always on-the-go, busy, modern woman:
DRY SHAMPOO: This one is sort of a “duh” but I’m still surprised at the amount of women who don’t use this on the regular. Maybe it’s a generational thing? I suspect it has more to do with the fear of potential user error and with the overwhelming amount of options out there. I still find women spraying perfume in their hair (read about my locker room meltdown here) at the gym. I just don’t freaking get it. Anyway, Moroccanoil released their very own dry shampoo earlier this year and I’m loving it. The scent is subtle and it blends easily with my dark locks giving me another couple of days before I have to pick it up in the famous “my-hair-is-filthy” ponytail.
A BOMB MOISTURIZER: Listen, I don’t have time to sit around with a moisturizing facial mask every other day to quench the dry patches on my face. We’ve established that I barely have time to wash my hair. I recently started using Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel and let me just say, WOW. This thirst-quenching, oil-free gel is to your skin what a gallon of coconut water is to your Sunday hang-overs. Scared of breaking out? Don’t be. I have combination-oily skin that is sensitive and prone to break-outs and (besides the normal occasional pimple) I have seen nothing but radiant, plump and supple skin since I started using this. I use it morning and night in conjunction with the Hydro Boost Eye Gel which is also amazeballs and in case you’re worried about it making your skin oilier, it won’t. It will give you a dewier look though, so if you’re into the flat, super matte look, this product may not be for you.
Beauty-nerd fun-fact: Both of these products contain Hyaluronic acid which is a natural occurring substance in the human body. It is what gives skin its volume and fullness!
SKIN REFRESHER: This Tea Tree Water facial toner from Lush does everything short of serving you coffee in the morning. I’m not kidding. Apply to bare skin for tighter pores and oil-control or throw it in your purse for a mid-day refresher. At work, on a plane or while listening to horrid music on your Uber (you get the point), spritz a few sprays on your face (yes, even on top of your makeup) and watch your tired and dull skin come back to life. I swear by this stuff.
MOISTURIZING WIPES: I found these natural moisturizing wipes by natural beauty line, Pacifica, while perusing the beauty isle at Wholefoods the other day and I am hooked! They smell like a tropical dream and they are perfect for leaving in your car/purse/gym bag for an instant refresher which we all need around 4 pm from running around in this South Florida heat. They are the perfect alternative to that big jug of moisturizer weighing down your purse.
What life-saving products do you swear by? I would love to know!
