I had a lovely evening yesterday at the inaugural Coral Gables Fashion Week at hosted at the Coral Gables Museum. With a fashion show featuring several local boutiques, a Q&A sessions hosted local fashion bloggers and led by Kelly Saks from Kelly’s Kloset, music, cocktails and light bites, I have to say it was a successful event. We wrapped up the evening with a cocktail party and more great music and even better company.
Originally, I was going to wear a skin-tight dress with crazy high-heels. I chose comfort with a flowy vintage skirt that has been in my closet for 10 years, a crochet crop top from FOREVER 21 and some cute flat sandals from Steve Madden. I also brought out my extensions for the first time since I cut my hair and went for a boho chic braid to the side (pictorial here). Upon my arrival to event, I was so happy about my fashion choices! It was so hot! And I can’t do the whole “stand in heels for 3 hours straight” thing. Not after the crazy foot cramp I got last week due to wearing high-heels (stay tuned for next post for the pitiful details on that one).
I leave you with some event pics and some of my favorite looks on the runway.
