Shortly after telling you guys how I got my curl-swag back with Project Beauty’s HAIRGURT line (here), I received a surprise package with the entire line of shampoos and hair masques! I must get the husband to record me while doing my “mail-goodies happy dance” which is a weird mix between Beyonce’s Formation and the Macarena as I repeatedly chant “I SLAY” (You think I’m joking?).
I’ve been raving about the products for several weeks now on Snapchat: OwnYourGlam, and I love sharing with you guys the shampoo-masque combination I will be using that day and showing off my curls after. One of the hair masques has been especially helpful after going blonde (pic here). So, after exclusively using Project Beauty’s entire HAIGURT line for weeks, I’ve developed a routine:
Mixing and matching is the secret to better hair. I have found the perfect combo of products for my thirsty curls. First, I cleanse with the Curl Perfecting Coconut Acai Shampoo (every other time I wet my hair) which removes product build up and leaves my hair feeling clean without over-drying it. Second, I saturate my hair from roots to ends with the Smoothing Strawberry Banana Masque which by the way, smells so good it literally makes you want to eat it. No wonder they have to slap a “DO NOT EAT” label on it. Formulated with unruly, frizzy and dry hair in mind, this masque is perfect for curly and straight hair. I leave it on for 30 minutes with a plastic shower cap covering my product-saturated bun for an extra nourishing effect. Third, I untangle my locks with a wide-tooth comb and rinse it out with cold water. Lastly, I apply the super creamy and rich Intense Repair Honey Almond Masque from roots to ends, comb once more to ensure even distribution and immediately rinse out with cold water. After using the HAIRGURT shampoos and hair masques in every possible combination, here’s what I have discovered:
- The Smoothing Strawberry Banana smells the best. I like to use it when I want to take my shower experience to the next level. Just the scent makes me feel happy and energized.
- The Intense Repair Honey Almond is the most nourishing and thirst-quenching. I use it as a leave in treatment when I pick up my hair in a bun, especially after pool/beach days (which you know I enjoy plenty of).
- The Curl Perfecting Coconut Acai line is the most mildly scented which is nice, and works especially well when combined the Honey Almond line. The shampoo is perfect for curly hair.
Like I’ve said before, a HUGE plus with Project Beauty is that, in their own words, they keep the “ugly stuff “out: Free of sulfates, parabens, harsh salt systems, harmful colors and harmful fragrances, this line fits right into my “cleaner, safer and more natural” cosmetics lifestyle.
